I had a pretty good time at the Charlotte Marriott City Center. The modern decor is really nice and the fitness center wowed me with its space and equipment. However, I did have some issues with room lighting and communication when it came to getting my luggage, which left a bit to be desired. Overall, it was a solid stay but could use a few tweaks.
Rooms

My upgraded mini suite was nice, but I really missed having a desk. Also, the gap in the curtains let in unwanted light. The cleanliness was on point and the bed was super comfy, though!
Service
8.0
The staff was friendly and eager to help. When I had some hiccups with getting my luggage, they stepped up to resolve it. However, there was a bit of a disconnect between the front desk and valet services, which was frustrating at times.
Location
9.0
You can't beat the location! It's super close to local attractions, which made getting to the Belk Bowl a breeze. Despite some construction chaos outside, I felt like I was in the heart of it all.
Dining

I ate at Stoke and found the food really good. Their farm-to-table approach left a lasting impression. Still, I had a bit of confusion with the breakfast charges; it was advertised as free, but I ended up being charged.
Facilities

The gym was impressive, truly a standout feature. However, the M Lounge felt a bit dim and could use an upgrade to make it more inviting. Parking was pricey as well, which is something to consider.

My stay at Charlotte Marriott City Center was mixed. The location was excellent, centrally situated near attractions, though the ongoing construction made navigating to and from the hotel quite frustrating. While the staff was generally friendly and the room clean, the overall experience left much to be desired, especially for an Elite member like me. I expected more from Marriott's standards.
Rooms
6.0
The room was clean with a comfortable bed, but I encountered issues with my first room having dirty towels and a sinking bathroom, leading me to request a switch.
Service
7.0
The staff was courteous and friendly, yet I felt that the valet service could have been better managed during busy times.
Location
6.0
The hotel's location is fantastic, offering easy access to attractions like the Spectrum, but the construction made it difficult to get in and out.
Dining

I enjoyed breakfast at Stoke, with good fresh options, although unexpected charges for cocktails in the concierge room were disappointing.
Facilities
5.0
While the hotel had potential with its amenities, I found the high parking charges and limited room service options rather disappointing.

My stay at the Charlotte Marriott City Center was a mixed bag. The hotel location is unbeatable, making it easy to explore Uptown, and the modern style of the renovations was impressive. However, I faced challenges like elevator noise and issues with parking costs. While the staff, including the valet and front desk, were friendly and helpful, some amenities felt lacking in value for the price I paid.
Rooms
8.0
I really appreciated the contemporary style of the room. the decor was excellent, and the amenities like USB ports were very convenient. However, the faux wood floors made the noise echo a bit, which was distracting. And even though my bed was incredibly comfortable, I did notice the shower pressure was weak.
Service
9.0
The staff were friendly and provided excellent service throughout my stay. They resolved issues promptly, particularly when I had to retrieve a bag I left behind. However, I did experience some operational hiccups with the app key not working at first.
Location
9.0
The location was truly fantastic, right in the heart of Uptown. I could easily walk to many restaurants and attractions. The only downside was the ongoing construction nearby, which slightly marred the experience.
Dining

I dined at Stoke and was really impressed with the quality of the farm-to-table food. fresh ingredients and great flavor made for an enjoyable experience. The breakfast options were solid too, though I heard some mixed reviews about room service.
Facilities

The gym facilities were impressive and well-equipped, which was a big plus for me. However, I was disappointed by the $30 parking fee, which felt excessive.

I had a lovely stay at the Charlotte Marriott City Center, especially enjoyed my corner King Suite on the 12th floor. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, and the M Club was a highlight with its tasty snacks and breakfast. However, the room could have been improved with a desk and chair for work, and I encountered some issues with the bed comfort that impacted my sleep.
Rooms
8.0
My suite was modern and well-appointed, but it lacked a desk and chair which made it tough for any work. Also, while it was clean, the comfort of the king bed left something to be desired.

Dining at the M Club was a treat with fresh and healthy options, though I did find some hot food items served at room temperature during my visits. Regardless, the muffins and croissants were particularly good.
